Welcome to Pine & Poplars

Welcome to my new adventure Pine and Poplars. My name is Kelly and I am a mom to a talented 13 year old boy, a loving to wife to a very hardworking and loyal man Desi. I am a hairdresser by trade for the last 27 years and just recently sold my salon to work at home. My husband and I had a shipping container built into a salon that sits on our property with gorgeous views of the mountains and farm land. (follow me on instagram @ simplicity.hair.lounge ) My desire to start this blog started by failed attempts to find really good blogs on raising teens and activities to do with teens, where to find the best clothes for our kids who are in between youth and adult sizes.  I soon found out that a lot of blogs are from new Mom's with loads of things to do with the littles', fashion for their kids and matching outfits for days but realized that a lot of them seemed to fade away during the teen years. I'm sure the reason is because we get so busy that the time to blog gets put on the back burner. I feel like most of us need to know that the support is there, that we are all going through a lot of the same things. I want to talk about challenges we face raising teens these days, how we navigate our busy schedule of working and sports and making sure my family gets healthy meals.  I want to share our adventures with you. We love the outdoors, biking, hiking, camping, kayaking, swimming, snowboarding, you name it. We love to explore our community and surrounding areas and all it has to offer. I want to take you along. I will include life hacks that I've found, gardening tips and tricks, share fashion and lifestyle tips, pretty much everything that makes our life tick. I want to find great activities do to as a family that your teen will enjoy and share my finds with you. I hope to have interviews with doctors and teachers to find out what things we need to be aware of for teen health, how to educate them on everything about growing up. If there is anything that you would like to see added please feel free to let me know, this is for all of us!. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
